Brooke's First Post

After receiving feedback from my first proposal, i decided to go in a different direction for my senior project; I actually changed my mind in a few different directions. After deeply thinking about what I wanted to create most and what I feel most comfortable with I decided to go a scenic route.

I intend to take black and white photographs of different landscapes that represent rural and urban areas, kind of a comparison. I am going to begin photographing Saturday.

For display I will use old window panes, like below.


Another piece I am going to create is an acrylic painting. The painting will be done on a 18x36 inch canvas. It is going to be a "morphed" painting of two original photographs, one of rural area other of urban area. Rather the difference between two landscapes be separated by a clear line, they will be sort of blended together as one. My one of my inspirations for this idea is below.


After I get to take some photographs this weekend I will begin the processes for each of these pieces and have something solid to work with. :)
