Joseph Troxler .3

It's been a slower couple of weeks for me. I've been priming surfaces for painting and editing photographs for references. On top of that I am still hard at work building my largest piece and tweaking others until I feel that they are the quality that I am looking for. In the past I have been less picky about the quality of my craftiness, or preciseness.
Now that I am creating something new and deeply personal, I feel that it accurately describes who I am at the current time. Before my work was often thrown together to create a rough impact on the viewer, and now my work feels refined, solid, and sophisticated. This brings me great joy to make work that I am deeply proud of.
Normally I write posts that are more journal-esque, but the past two weeks have been very trying, and stressful, causing me to work almost mindlessly on my projects. I feel these events in my life slowly turning into fuel as I have been gearing up to begin my painting processes. It's good to know that there is fuel in the tank, that there is something pushing you to do more, to do better. In this point in the semester, and this point in the year I feel like things are going smoothly, and chugging along just fine.
Below are some images of my reference photos, as well as some works in progress.
