Working out the issues with the ink. I'm used to paints with some substance, so working with an ink without much viscosity is taking some practice to get right. I decided to do a very light wash so the canvas is not really showing. That will act as the white spaces where the light is coming through the leaves and also help to start building up layers to get the trees dark enough to stand out from the leaves. This section was probably not the best to start with because it is more blurry and out of focus than the center (it is supposed to be that way) which makes it hard to tell whether or not I am satisfied with the way it looks. I am excited to get to the bags and to get back to acrylics for a moment. The biggest time consumer with this project so far is waiting for the ink to dry so I can layer it; however, in that time I've been able to get other work done.
