First batch of Walnut Ink is almost complete. A little less than a half gallon of ink got 3/4 of a pint (1.5 Cups) of 91% isopropyl alcohol as a preservative. I still need to purchase smaller amber glass bottles, cloves (natural preservative) and gum arabic (thickener). I will be boiling down the clean ink when I go to add the last few ingredients in order to concentrate the pigment. I wasn't too fond of the opacity when I tested the ink (canvas shown above). Until then, evaporation will help thicken the pigment.
