ALL the Chemicals - Laura Brennan

So these last couple of weeks have been filled with tons of research for me. Since the entire wet plate process is new to me, I want to make sure I won't make any major mistakes. Now that I've watched several videos and read a book about the process and formulas, I'm waiting on the arrival of two 4x5 film holders. Once they arrive, I have to modify them in order to fit the aluminum plates that will act as my film.
There are quite a few chemicals involved in the process, so I did not want to make any unnecessary purchases. I considered buying a wet plate kit with all of the chemistry already mixed, but ultimately decided that buying the individual chemicals would be better price wise, and I would have more control over the formulas and altering them if I need to. That was my major step today: purchasing all of my chemistry. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that all of my supplies will be here by the end of the week.
And don't worry, the Everclear is not for drowning my sorrows, I actually need it in order to make the collodian, developer, and varnish!
