Bad pano of the finished painting.
Single shot of the finished painting. A little more detail is visible in this one.
3 completed panels for the frame and some pallets that I haven't gotten a chance to disassemble.
I need to make 4 more panels, buy and install the hinges and buy and install the rest of the grommets in the canvas.
Once that is finished, I can hang the canvas and figure out what I am doing with the bag situation. I am looking forward to playing with Mrs. Silk's idea with the fishing line, as well as the addition of branches onto the frame for the show.
Over break, I plan to order the last bits of hardware and make a few small (less than 12"x12") pen and ink forest paintings. I don't really like how the walnut ink is working with the pen nibs, and the pen nibs allow for much greater detail than brushes, so I may switch over to india ink for these.
The very last thing that I need to do is to balance the Ph, since the ink was preserved in vinegar (I'm less worried about the rubbing alcohol). From my research so far, the affordable option is to use a baking soda-water wash, which may leave residue stains. The expensive option is to use an aerosol "Make It Acid-Free" spray made by Krylon and not found in stores, so a second shipment will take time.
