Here is my final post! I feel very confident that one or more of these ones selected would get into the show. I am very happy with the work that I created with this series through out this semester. I am still shooting two more male models to add to this series !

Hello,
So I'm really surprised it's final critque, but I feel confident in what I have to show, the majority of stuff I've done this semester is either complete or near done.
I've been working on my bed set that has transfers of real and fake family photos on it.  I finally got the mattress (it is secretly a cushiony box spring, but I liked the pattern better).  I put the bed together and I'm really impressed with how it has turned out.  All my tea bags and print count I've used up I think went to good use.  I'm really pleased with how the pieces interact and how they play into the concept that inspired the bed installation.  I've included two perspectives of the bed, and the close up of the newest pillows.

On the other hand I've almost finished my kitchen pieces.  I have one more mount to do, the refrigerator, which is waiting till I can find where I can buy magnetic spray paint.  I just think it would be really more successful as an interactive piece.  This is what the space looks like with 4/5 mounts up.

For the refrigerator I am making magnets to pick at things that bothered me as a child, I am using my own personal photos.  I wanted them to be lower quality and childish, hence the car that say's "GTFO."  Honestly, I cannot believe I made these.  What is my life?

Finally, I made a tester video to see how it interacts within the space.  I found an app that records like an old VHS tape, which I would use a real one, or make it appear that I did in a better quality if it goes over well within the space.

WOO! thanksgiving break was nice and relaxing giving me time to finish almost all of my animals! I have only one more to create!! creating them digitally was time consuming due to the masking processes but it was also fun to do! It was almost like building a puzzle but I was able to make it my own way! I still have a little editing to do on them such as adjusting size, res, color and other minor details. My next steps are to finish my 6th animal, add their features and start shooting the habitats in which these animals could live. Im starting to cruise on this project finally! Christmas break will be fun to start building my collage portrait! i am waiting on the income of ALOT of organic materials..., (thank god it is hunting season). Funny story but sad..... last week I asked a friend who hunts for some scraps and when I got home that night there were 4 detached deer legs in a plastic bag!! so so awesome and messy! unfortunately the garbage men the next day figured it was trash and threw it away :(

Don't worry i'm taking a trip to the local taxidermist to get more!

Hey guys! Just going to play some catch up since my blogging skills are poopy. With the organic materials I have collected I decided to scan them to make myself a blueprint of what I want my sculpture to look like.. Below are just a few pictures of many!

 

  
From attempting to make the snake and bird heads a while ago I have decided to go digital because the digital processes are all new and exciting for me! 

I knew what photoshop was but had no idea how to use it but after the first few months of the academic year I caught on quickly! I will be making six new species of animals on photoshop starting with their bone formation and ending with the outer layer of fur, skin, scales, feathers or whatever my animals texture will be! I'm so excited and ready to let my imagination run wild!! Next post will be full of fun things!!

Thanksgiving break gave me a nice few days to figure out where I wanted this work to go. Its starting to feel like its done. And though the ending I've devised is somewhat depressing, it needs to be. These past two weeks have been rather hard for many reasons, but most especially because my memory has started to fade. It comes only visually now with none of the accompanying emotions or physical memories. I'll be honest and say I panicked the first couple of days I started to notice, but I've been here before and know its just what happens. It also makes this project more important to me. And its important that I try to show what exactly is happening. Memory fades. It is an impermanent solution to this problem, as I simply have to work with that and record it as it happens.

It may be too early to say this is the end, but it certainly feels like it. There is of course the presentation to think about and I know that will take quite some time to work on and complete (probably most of next semester). Additionally, I'm doing a costume shop practicum in which I design and construct a body of costumes that will compliment (physically and conceptually) my work. Though the concepts are tied more closely to the prints I've been doing this semester, the feelings and abstract fears they describe are the same ones I address here, so Its possible I might be able to show them with this work if enough of it is complete by the judging time. That's a future idea though. But, for your own interest, here are my proposal sketches for that collection.

At this point in the semester I'm working on a few different things. Right now I'm in the middle of a few "skinscapes". This is the one that is farthest along. The most time consuming part of this is masking all the skin just right and matching up where highlights and shadows should be.

 

 

 

 

Other than my new landscapes I've just been shooting regularly! I'm just really trying to capture the most interesting and hidden nuances I can find. Here are two from a recent shoot.
